About Us

Our Story

Kemetyu Global Economic Development Corporation, LBG (KGEDC) is a Ghana-based NGO dedicated to empowering Africans and people of African descent to shape their future and enhance their quality of life. We work at the intersection of community-led planning, education, workforce development, technology, and cultural preservation—building practical pathways for long-term prosperity.

Rooted in Ghana and strengthened by global partnerships, KGEDC supports communities to design solutions that reflect local priorities, honor traditional leadership, and create opportunities for the next generation.

Our Mission

To empower Africans and people of African descent to shape their future and enhance their quality of life by creating a dynamic framework for growth and development.

Our Vision

Full inclusion in global society without discrimination.

What We Do

KGEDC advances community-driven development across seven key focus areas:

  • Community Planning & Development
We partner with local leaders and stakeholders to assess needs, map assets, and co-create actionable development plans that can scale.

  • Economic & Workforce Development
We help build local capacity through skills training, entrepreneurship support, and initiatives that create dignified jobs and sustainable livelihoods.

  • Technology Advancement & Innovation
We integrate modern tools—digital infrastructure, smart systems, and emerging technologies—to accelerate impact and improve service delivery.

  • Community Safety
We support community-centered approaches that strengthen safety, stability, and quality of life for residents.

  • International Affairs
We foster connections between Ghana and the global African diaspora, building bridges for collaboration, investment, and cultural exchange.

  • Education
We support school renovations, digital literacy, scholarships, and exchange opportunities that expand access and strengthen learning outcomes.

  • Arts, Culture & Entertainment
We invest in cultural preservation and creative industries, ensuring heritage is protected while opening new pathways for cultural tourism and economic growth.

Where We Work

Our current partner communities in Ghana include:

  • Akuapem Mampong (Eastern Region)

  • Aworowa Techiman (Bono East Region)

  • Aworokurom, Ahafo Ano South West District (Ashanti Region)

We collaborate closely with traditional authorities, local institutions, and community members to ensure development is respectful, locally anchored, and built to last.

Our Approach

We believe sustainable progress is created with communities, not for them. Our work is guided by:

  • Partnership over charity — shared goals, shared accountability

  • Local leadership and ownership — community voices lead the process

  • Cultural respect — honoring Ghanaian traditions and protocols

  • Practical implementation — clear plans, measurable outcomes

  • Long-term sustainability — systems that continue beyond any single project
