Kemetyu Global Economic Development Corporation, LBG (KGEDC) is a Ghana-based, mission-driven organisation established to empower Africans and people of African descent to shape their own future and enhance quality of life through sustainable development. KGEDC’s work is grounded in community-led planning, cultural integrity, inclusion, transparency, and long-term economic opportunity.

KGEDC’s approach is informed by decades of public-sector and community development experience and a multi-generational legacy of education and community-building in Ghana. The organisation’s leadership and partnerships have been shaped by deep relationships across Ghana and the African diaspora, with a focus on moving beyond charity models toward co-created solutions that strengthen local capacity.

In 2025–2026, KGEDC completed a strategic transition to Ghana-only operations to align governance, implementation, and accountability with the communities it serves. During this period, the organisation focused on governance strengthening, stakeholder engagement, and program design—preparing for compliant implementation upon receipt of the required NPO/NGO license.

Traditional Authority Alignment

KGEDC’s leadership is strengthened by its alignment with traditional authority and community development structures. The organisation’s Executive Director & CEO, Titilayo Akua I. Smith (Nana Akua Otubea Baah), serves as Nkosuohemea (Development Queen Mother) of Akuapem Mampong. This role supports KGEDC’s approach by: – facilitating culturally respectful engagement and community entry processes; – strengthening trust, accountability, and community participation in planning; – supporting coordination with traditional councils and local leadership; and – promoting development initiatives that are community-defined and culturally grounded.

While the Nkosuohemea role is rooted in Akuapem Mampong, KGEDC’s model is designed to work collaboratively across multiple traditional areas through formal relationships, respectful protocol, and partnership with local traditional authorities. This ensures that initiatives in other communities are implemented with appropriate local leadership, consent, and oversight.

KGEDC’s priority regions include:

– Mampong Akuapem (Eastern Region)

– Aworowa Techiman (Bono East Region)

– Aworokurom Ahafo Ano South West (Ashanti Region)
